Dahab Diving Safaris

If your holiday is based in Dahab, you will have, in addition to the local shore diving, the opportunity to visit more distant sites by camel or on day boats from Sharm El Sheikh.

The camel safaris run to Ras Abu Gallum in the north, and to Gabr El Bint to the south. After a short Jeep ride, the diving equipment - and you! - will be loaded onto Bedouin camels, which will carry you for the rest of the leisurely journey to the dive site.

The camel ride to Ras Abu Gallum begins at the Blue Hole, and the one to Gabr El Bint (arguably the best diving in Sinai) starts just south of The Caves dive site. At each site, you will first have breakfast, then do two dives, with Bedouin food for lunch in between, before hitching a camel ride back to the vehicles and home, in time for dinner. There are also opportunities to dive Gabr El Bint by boat.

An early start from Dahab will get you to Sharm El Sheikh in time to board a first-rate dive boat for a day's diving on the famous sites of Ras Muhammed National Park or on some excellent wrecks, such as the SS Dunraven and the popular SS Thistlegorm. In more exposed areas, against a backdrop of sheer walls and drop-offs, you can see huge shoals of pelagic species, large barracuda, jack, batfish, snapper and trevally, with occasional turtles, eagle rays, mantas and sharks. All boat trips include breakfast and lunch.
