With so many countries and airlines in Europe, it is impossible to offer more than minimum advice on booking flights for guests travelling from the European mainland. Because information suggests that suitable flights from the UK can be the most difficult to find, and among the most expensive, we have concentrated on offering information on reserving seats from there.
There are several travel agents and tour operators who offer flight only deals from the UK. Although there are companies prepared to sell only flights, many would much rather sell package holidays, and, as a consequence, offer relatively expensive flight-only deals.
We have a fair amount of experience with one agent, Red Sea Flights, and base the following comments on that. You should bear in mind, however, that these opinions are very much our own, and that experiences vary from customer to customer.
Overall, Blue Realm has found Red Sea Flights to be very competitive and efficient. Because all of their Sharm flights are now scheduled, you can book one way in either direction, either from the UK or from Egypt. Flights are between Gatwick or Manchester and Sharm El Sheikh, or between Gatwick and Marsa Alam. You can start an open-ended holiday, and book your return flight from Egypt whenever it suits your itinerary, so you need not be limited to the usual seven- or fourteen-day holiday.
Flight prices vary dramatically, depending on agency policies, season, seat availability, popularity, etc. so it is strongly recommended that you shop around before making your final reservation.
