Snorkelling

It might surprise you to learn that the most beautiful corals and fish in the Red Sea can be found in the top few metres of water.

Because corals are dependent on sunlight for their survival, as we go deeper and the light diminishes, the less rich and varied the reef becomes. Naturally, since reef fishes are dependent on the coral for their survival, the more profuse the corals, the more numerous are the fish. This means that enjoyment of some of Egypt's most beautiful marine life is readily available to anyone swimming slowly over the reef with nothing more than a mask and fins.

Snorkelling is one of the most popular activities for non-diving visitors to the Red Sea. Very few can resist the urge to sample its treasures with such little effort, but, beware; you might get to enjoy it too much, and be tempted to learn to dive.

The easiest way to experience the wonder of Dahab's coral reefs is to join our regular snorkelling trips to the local dive sites. We offer a comprehensive service to beginners and experienced snorkellers, including instruction, advice, guidance, equipment hire and transport to the best local sites. The more adventurous and dedicated are welcome to join us on any of our boat trips to enjoy some of the spectacular and dramatic sites of the Ras Mohammed National Park.
